Brixam's seafaring's many rises and falls are featured in the displays an Brixham Museum. There you will find many historic photos of local ship wrecks and rescues at see as well as a huge collection of equipment that has been used to save lives during the towns history. There is a replica of the Sir France Drake's ship from the 16th Century, The Golden Hind that emphasis Brigham's connection to the sea.

Just a small walk towards the Berry Head promontory just past the harbor are several great beaches. Though most are small and full of pebbles, the St. Mary's Bay, has a beach that is large and sandy as well a connected swimming pool, facilities and shops of its own.
To Brixham's east is Berry Head County Park. The park has magnificent opportunities for cliff top walks and stunning view. There are a wide range of seabird colonies. The presence of the limestone topology that is present in the park makes it the perfect place for several flora species that are rare. The park was once the home of a promotry fort from the iron age that came complete with earthwork embankments for defense which was typical for a fort of its time during that era.
