On the western coast of North Wales is the city of Barmouth. Being located between a beautiful mountain range and the sea, Barmouth has been named one of the most beautiful locations in all of Wales. It is also located at the southwest corner of the Snowdonia National Park making it a popular tourist destination.

Like most seaside destinations the beach is normally the first stop that most visitors make. This large beach can allow the kids to run and play while the adults can just sit back and relax. The size allows those who want to be able to relax can find a quiet spot to sun themselves and get out of the hustle and bustle of the beach. The beach area is also home to several amusement arcades. For the adventuresome spirits there are also Caravan parks to explore.

Barmouth proudly boasts the Fairbourne and Barmouth Railway track. This ancient rail way is of the Arthur McDougall fame. While it was originally built to transport construction materials it is now used to transport passengers back and forth from the Fairbourne Station to Penrhyn Point so that passengers can embark on the ferry to take them to Barmouth.

For those who enjoying a good race Barmouth is the place to head. Barmouth is the starting place for the Three Peaks Race. This race involves sailing from Wales to Scotland then climbing the Scafell Pike, Ben Nevis and the Snowdon. After then competitor has completed 11,000 ft of climbing they still have 72 miles of running to do.

There are also many different historic buildings to visit. You can check out the tower in town that is a showcase for medieval architecture. In this wonderful tower you can see how the residents of the area used to live. There is also the historic St. Johns Church. Built from 1889 to 1896 this church, the lectern is made of wrought iron and copper in the design of the Sower and the Seed. St John's Bell tower is home to eight bells created by Mear and Stainband of London in 1897. The stained glass windows are a site to see as well, with nine windows created by the famous CE Kemp.
