A civil parish and a lively market town, Thame is located in Oxfordshire. The all time famous English river Thame flows on the north side of this town and for this reason it derives its very own name. The wide boat shaped market is quite entertaining as it satisfies the needs of customers of varied interests.
The town has many historical sites which are kept in good condition with the help of international experts. The interior walls of the Greyhound Inn are still preserved where John Hampden, a Civil War hero of England died. The site is of utmost importance for the history buffs as they can come very close to the place where a very important historical event took place.
The skyline of the town is dominated by the Church of Saint Mary. This 13th century church remains open throughout the year and people of all faiths can come and be witness to the spectacular architectural achievement of the British nation. The church is so well maintained that an ordinary person could never tell that this very building has been standing here for centuries.
The annual agricultural show lasts for one day and attracts people from the neighbouring towns. In recent times this show has generated revenue that has helped the organizers to improve the facilities for the incoming visitors.
The Thame Leisure Centre is a place full of on-going activities. Different sections based on the age-groups are arranged so that kids and adults can equally enjoy their stay.
