Sturminister Newton or simply Stur is an English town and located in the Dorset County. The town has just over 3000 inhabitants but the ongoing development projects are gathering more people from the adjacent towns. One of the key sources of the town's revenue generation is dairy farming. Sturminister formed a close alliance with the nearby towns to maximize the revenue.
The River Stour that flows around the town does add its share in the town's revenue as many people in the town are involved in the fishery. The fish from Sturminister is considered to be the best in Dorset. There is an interesting plaque attached to the bridge that says if someone is found guilty of damaging the bridge then that person would be transported to the continent of Australia. Australia was made a penal colony by the British Empire after the independence of the United States of America.
Sturminister Mill is not very far away from the bridge and still remains open throughout the week for the incoming visitors. Guides are available for those who are interested in its history. The mill becomes fully functional twice in the season.
The town has a newly constructed building known as The Exchange. It serves as a multi-purpose building for a range of activities. The community centre inside is fully equipped with all the modern essential items. The art centre hosts weekly exhibitions of different genres of British art. The government is promoting the building so that people visiting the town may have all the facilities of a modern town.
