The Millennium Gallery is one of the more modern landmarks. You can view a variety of exhibitions which include the Tat and National Portrait Gallery and the V and A. Admission is free for everyone with the exception of some of the special exhibitions, there might be some charges for those. Millennium Gallery is open except for Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year's Day from 8 to 5 Monday thru Saturday and 11 to 5 on Sunday.
The Graves Gallery is also another popular museum. The gallery has an art deco frontage and polished brass banisters and oak floors. This gallery gives visitors a classic art gallery experience. While you are going to see classic fine art and historic collections you will also get to view many different contemporary art pieces as well. The gallery is free to everyone as well and is opened year round except for Christmas, Boxing Day, and New Year's Day.
Naturalists will enjoy the variety of gardens. Wortley Hall Gardens is an eleven acre lot of formal gardens. The one hundred meter long Peace Walk are planted with herbaceous perennials and old English Roses. There are lavender walks and dwarf Azaleas and Rhododendrons. This all make for a beautiful collision of colors especially during the spring and summer months.
Chatsworth House is another popular stop for visitors. As one of Britain's best loved historic houses visitors can enjoy viewing works of art, adorable animals and breathe taking fountains and gardens. Visitors can also enjoy food, shopping and drinks throughout park area.
For those that enjoy skiing, the Sheffield Ski Village is the place to go. This is considered to be largest artificial ski complex in Europe. There is over a mile of ski runs that vary in degree of difficulty. The Ski village offers instructors and ski patrols. Visitors can enjoy a cafe, bar, restaurant and travel ship while here. There is also an adventure playground for small children and a freestyle area. There are half pipes, big air jumps and grind rails for lots of entertainment.
For the kids there are the Big Tops Play Center. Here kids under 11 can enjoy slides, ball pools, zip wires, monkey bars, twisters, and tub slides. There is a toddler's area and car track as well. For the parents there is free WiFi, TV Screens, and leather seats.
