The third most populous city in Scotland is Aberdeen. Nicknamed the Granite City many of Aberdeen's buildings have incorporated locally quarried granite. The city of Aberdeen was first granted a charter in 1179. There is lots to do during your stay in Aberdeen.

One popular attraction is ballooning. Each of these flights last about an hour but visitors should be sure to schedule more time for the flight to include safety talks and other presentations. You will get to enjoy a glass of champagne, and photos during your flight. If you can't land back at your take off point, don't worry you will be driven back.

For those that love wildlife check out the Dolphin Watching Cruise trip. The Activity Superstore provides the booking for the dolphin watching trip. Buckie Harbor, the take off point for the dolphin watching trip, is just outside of Aberdeen. From here you will be taken out by aan experienced seaman and fisherman into the beautiful harbor to see these beautiful majestic creatures. You might even see other animals such as seals, porpoises, or even minke whales.

Another great treat is a trip on The Orient Express of the North. This ride will take you through the north east countryside and gives you a wonderful view of the area. When you are greeted by the train you will get to enjoy a glass of bucks fizz, and then get a lunch or dinner, dependent on the time of day, as well as a glass of champagne as you enjoy the countryside.

For those that enjoy a good ghost story, you can enjoy a ghost hunting experience. The ghost hunting experience starts with a psychic workshop with an experienced medium and the ghost hunting devices will be shown to you. You will then take a tour of spooky venues which includes small teams of investigators taking turn with the ghost hunting equipment. After you are finished you will regroup with the rest of the group to discuss your findings. Be prepared to spend all night at this ghost hunting experience. Most times the experience starts around 7 in the evening and finish up around 7 in the morning. Occasionally some of them might break up around 2 in the morning instead, just depends on the experience.

Provost Skene's House is a popular museum in the town centre of Aberdeen. This museum is considered a rare surviving example of early burgh architecture. It was once owned by the Mayor Provost who was also a wealthy merchant from 1675 to 1685. Those that aren't in decent physical condition probably should not go to this museum due to the steep stairs that you will have to climb. There are interesting rooms to view, and a garden of beautiful flowers to enjoy.
