Welwyn Garden City is an English town in the southern county of Hertfordshire. The town itself lies in the district of Welwyn, Hatfield. Welwyn Garden City is located 32 kilometers from Charing Cross. Moreover the town is located very near to the London boroughs of Barnet and Enfield.

Welwyn Garden City has the unique honour of being the second English garden city. The town is newly formed as it was designated in 1948. All the modern considerations are taken into account while planning this amazing garden town of highly vibrant society.

The original development of the town started in 1919 when experts from diverse fields gathered to plan the blueprint of the town. The wide streets of Welwyn Garden City have trees along the sides and some of the contemporary elements of architecture can be found in the main buildings of this amazing garden city. The town is well maintained and all the aspects of a low carbon environment are incorporated to portray the town as a model for carbon cutting. All the major roads of the town are blessed with grass curbs, this initiative makes the whole environment a lot healthier as compared to other garden cities.

The main area of the town known as Parkway contains all the major multinational chains to incorporate the needs of native and incoming visitors. Aesthetics considerations are taken into account while establishing the parking lanes for visitors. The eastern side of the town has all the pioneering buildings of the town while the western side has been developed in recent times.
